Special Opportunity: "Andrasteia"!
A Six-Week Girls' Discipleship Group
Sunday April 15-May 27
6:00-7:30PM

NEW! “Adrasteia” (which means “one who does not flee”). A discipleship
group for girls aged Junior High through High School. Six weeks--April
15-May 27 (excluding Mothers Day) on Sundays, 6:00-7:30PM.
The girls will be reading "Through Gates of Splendor" by
Elisabeth Elliot and will be discussing what it looks like to be
called and to then answer the call of God on our lives. In addition, we
will be choosing together someplace locally that we want to minister. This is a great opportunity!

Sunday Mornings
NorthPark's Jr. High is for students in 7th and 8th grade. Our Jr. High service meets in CROWN CHAPEL (Upstairs) at 9:00 am. We have an energized Jr. High ministry that includes Sunday morning celebrations, small groups, summer camp, winter camp, a service project, blow-out events, fundraisers and more. Come grow in your relationship with Christ and connect with other Jr. High students from Rio Norte JH, Arroyo Seco JH, Castaic MS, Placerita JH, Rancho Pico JH, La Mesa JH, Village Christian JH, and Trinity Classical Academy. Check it out!
Make sure to bring your Bible because each week we'll learn from God's word to understand how to live the good life that God has planned out for us.
You can help us by reminding your student to bring their Bibles to church each week. If you haven't bought your student a "study Bible", let us encourage you to do so. "Study Bibles" are really helpful because they provide commentaries on the bottom of each page, which helps explain tough passages from God's word. For example, a good "study Bible" is the Life Application Study Bible (NIV). You can find one of these at any Christian bookstore.
We’ll see you on Sunday!

Summer Camp

The one week of the whole year that you simply can not miss is our Jr. High Summer Camp 2012 at Forest Home (Ojai Valley). No "ifs", "ands", or "buts"! Watch for information!

Not only is it the most fun week of your entire year, but it will be the most moving week in your relationship with Christ.
Small Groups

Our Jr. High Small Groups are designed to help students grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. Watch for information about upcoming groups!
Blow-Out Events

Our Jr. High every month or so does a high energy and exciting Blow-Out Event. Watch this spot for info about our next Blow-Out Event.
Don't just sit there! You have to come and check our Jr. High Blow-Out Events! These events are great opportunities to invite a good friend, someone who doesn't know Christ, or someone who isn't plugged into a church.
Imagine how fun and comfortable their first church experience at NorthPark could be at a Blow-Out Event. What a great way to start introducing a friend to Christ!
Attention Parents!
To find out insider tips to help make this year the best for your student, be sure to check out this page. You'll find the key dates for the year. New! Check out our helpful resources for parents--books and videos that will help with the various challenges that come during the adolescent years.
Our Jr. High Staff are motivated to work with your students because we know that students in this period are in a crucial life stage. Old research used to indicate that if you didn’t accept Christ by the time you were 18 years old, the chances of you ever accepting Him later were significantly lower. Now, the research indicates that this critical age has been moved down to 12 years old. That means if our students in Jr. High don’t surrender their lives to Christ now, the chances of them doing so later are few and far between. This inspires us to not just work with students, but to equip them to have a vital ministry with their friends. We are also inspired to show your student that a relationship with Christ is really the best life possible (John 10:10)!
Here are the key trips for the 2011-2012 calendar year:
-
Winter Camp: January--watch for specific here!
-
Service Project: April--watch for specifics here!
-
Summer Camp: July--watch for specifics here!
Each of these major trips are great to help your student connect with the rest of the Jr. High Ministry. Once your student attends one of these trips, they will know a number of the students and staff here at NorthPark. We can't emphasize enough how important these trips are! Plus, we've never heard one student tell us they wish they didn't go. In fact, we hear the complete opposite. Students wish we could stay longer.
