To Be On Mission with Jesus to Make Disciples.
To Love, Live, Serve, Give like Jesus
Love like Jesus
“I will love God completely and others more than myself.”
30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.' 31 The second is this: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no commandment greater than these." (Mark 12:30-31)
34 "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." (John 13:34-35)
Live like Jesus
“I will live all of life for Jesus.”
All of life - 1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God--this is true worship. (Romans 12:1)
Like Jesus - 6 Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did. (1st John 2:6)
For Jesus - 14 For Christ's love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. 15 And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again. (2nd Corinthians 5:14-15)
20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. (Galatians 2:20)
Serve like Jesus
“I will humbly serve others.”
3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, 4 not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. 5 In your relationships with one another, have the same attitude of mind Christ Jesus had: (Philippians 2:3-5)
12 Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. (Colossians 3:12-13)
Give like Jesus
“I will give sacrificially of my time, talents, and treasures.”
45 For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many." (Mark 10:45)
Time and talents - 58 Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. (1st Corinthians 15:58)
Treasure - 7 Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. (2nd Corinthians 9:7)
Our Core Values
We believe in the objective truth of the gospel of Christ.
We seek for everything that we think, say, and do to flow out of the gospel.
God's Word and Prayer
We believe that the Word and the Spirit work together in our heart, mind, and soul to produce transformed lives pleasing to God.
We are committed to: praying, developing depth of knowledge of God’s Word, obeying God’s Word, and teaching others to obey God’s Word.
We believe Christ has called us to serve.
We seek to have the attitude and life of Christ, being concerned about others’ interests over our own and serving others sacrificially.
Doing Life Together
We believe doing life together with other disciples is a gift of grace and a process of discipleship.
We are committed to sharing our lives in smaller, intimate, burden-bearing groups - smaller communities of disciples from NorthPark Community Church who meet and do life together under the Word (learn Scripture, pray, love one another, share each other’s burdens, celebrate God’s goodness, and work together to fulfill the Great Commission.)
Being on Mission
We believe Christ entrusted us with the Great Commission – taking the light of the gospel to all.
We will fulfill this command by shaping our lives under the Word and sharing our lives with others to be missionaries to our family, community, and the world.
