Bob is our Lead Ministry Pastor. He is passionate about participating in the Great Commission. For years Bob has been involved in mission work around the world: leading teams to Europe, Mexico, the Caribbean and Africa. He and his wife Mimi are always looking for new opportunities to impact the world for the Kingdom of God. Bob graduated with a degree in Christian Education from Biola and just last year earned a Master of Divinity from George Fox Seminary. Bob loves playing and watching sports, especially the Dodgers, watching films and just about any outdoor activity. Some of his favorite vacation spots to spend with his family are Kuaui and Yosemite. You can visit his personal blog HERE.
Pastor Bob, his wife Margaret and his extended family are beloved at NorthPark for the wisdom and much valued perspective they bring to our Staff Team. Pastor Bob served in the Fire Department for many years before becoming a Pastor. He currently gives leadership to our vibrant SALT Ministries as well as our GriefShare and Mercy Ministries. Bob is big hearted and sincere--and he's great at giving hugs--be sure to get one when you see him. You'll feel the love!
Pastor Robert was born in Texas and accepted Christ as Savior at the age of five. In High School, he let football become his god so the Lord used injuries and disappointments to get his attention! Asking the Lord for a fresh start, Robert met his future wife at Baylor University during freshman orientation! Robert and Laurie married in 1993 and have two kids.
As Lead Teaching Pastor, Robert is responsible for preaching, teaching, and leading the staff team. Prior to NorthPark, Robert served as a Senior Pastor on the East Coast for almost four years after living in England for three years earning a Ph.D. in Religion & Theology from Durham University. Robert loves being back in So Cal having spent six years in Escondido (north San Diego) as an Adult ministries pastor at Emmanuel Faith Community Church. Robert is a graduate of Talbot School of Theology/Biola (M.A.) and a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin (M.B.A.).
If you want to know how to survive a cross-country drive with 2 kids, 1 dog, and 2 hermit crabs, talk with Robert! Seriously, he’d love to see you at NorthPark. It’s all about being on mission with Jesus wherever you are.
